Energy Talks & Drinks | How AI can influence the offshore wind sector

We are back with our monthly Energy Talks & Drinks

On 7 September we organize our next session, one that you don’t want to miss, as we explore the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI). With the rise of virtual assistants, chatbots, self-driving cars and smart homes, the role it already plays in our daily lives is enormous. The potential of AI seems endless, and we believe it also has a crucial part to play in accelerating the energy transition.

During this event, we will focus on how AI technology can revolutionize the offshore wind sector. Join us as we shine a light on the current challenges faced in offshore wind energy and unveil how AI can be harnessed to overcome them. Our speakers will present their innovative ideas and showcase the practical application of AI in addressing these challenges.

Program & speakers

17:30 – 18:00 hrs. Walk-in
18:00 – 18:45 hrs. Presentations about AI technologies

  • Greg Neustroev & Remco Verzijlbergh from TU Delft
Can AI learning help us collect more energy with (offshore) wind? In this dual presentation Remco and Greg will highlight some of the current challenges in the offshore wind energy sector and show how AI can be leveraged to address them. Results of a recent case study on wind farm control will be shown to illustrate the strength of reinforcement learning over traditional engineering approaches.
  • Jules Shertser from Twindo.ai
Twindo.ai is a field service & management system that helps businesses in wind energy O&M to streamline operations, improve collaboration between stakeholders and make diagnostic & predicted analysis with AI

18:45 – 19:30 hrs. Networking & drinks
