Gentle Driving of Piles

Gentle Driving of Piles (GDP) is an innovative method for installing foundations for offshore wind turbines. The conventional installation method for monopiles, hammering, generates an enormous amount of noise, negatively impacting marine life in a large area around installation sites.

The GDP-team at the Buccaneer is a spin-out of Ampelmann. This dedicated team is working on scaling up the GDP-technology to a full scale, commercial tool. In developing, testing and operating the tool, they work closely together in a consortium with a variery of partners: TU Delft, VibroTwist, DOT Power, Heerema, HES, Eneco and Sif.

We are happy to be part of the Buccaneer community, where we can meet potential customers, suppliers and partners at the coffee machine every day.

Diederick Nierstrasz, teamlead GDP
