Amphibious Energy secures major offshore decommissioning contract in Australia

We support startups in exploring new markets and gaining traction, even in sectors beyond the renewable sector. Innovative technologies can often also make existing industries, such as offshore decommissioning, more sustainable today.
That’s why we are especially proud that Amphibious Energy’s ICCP-Pods are being deployed, contributing to one of the largest offshore decommissioning projects globally. Sustainable offshore decommissioning is an important topic, and Amphibious Energy is paving the way towards sustainable decommissioning. One of our community members has been awarded a contract to deploy its ICCP-Pod technology as part of a large-scale offshore decommissioning project—this time even in Australia, an exciting and unexpected location.
A game-changer for offshore decommissioning
The contract follows a 6-month pilot program in which the ICCP-Pod, developed by Amphibious Energy in collaboration with CORROSION, successfully demonstrated its reliability in challenging offshore conditions. The ICCP-Pod combines Amphibious Energy’s renewable power technology with CORROSION’s Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system to deliver sustainable and reliable power for corrosion protection, eliminating the need for diesel generators.
This deployment highlights a growing industry shift toward sustainable offshore decommissioning, with renewable energy solutions playing an increasingly vital role in reducing environmental impact and operational costs.

Why this matters
- Proven reliability: Successfully tested in a six-month pilot program
- Cost-effective: Minimal maintenance and remote monitoring capabilities
- Sustainable: Reduces environmental impact and supports long-term decommissioning efforts
We are pleased and proud that a renowned O&G operator of the Bass Strait is pursuing sustainability and has assigned Amphibious Energy. The ICCP-Pod has proven that cost savings and sustainability do not have to be mutually exclusive.
