Energy Talks&Drinks – Energizing: a new wind turbine, maritime haptics and balancing it all
5 March 2020 @ 17:30 - 19:00Free
Earlier this year we asked which topics we should cover and surprisingly we received several requests that said ‘mindfulness’, ‘work-life balance’ and ‘meditation’. Therefore, the Energy Talks&Drinks on March 5 will be about how you can take ownership of your own work-life balance.
Keeping your balance for high performance

Smart-Ship is a maritime company that focuses on revolutionizing the way we control ships. They discovered that there is an imbalance in the way information is presented to the captain and how he is supposed to act on this information. They bridge the last five inches by implementing force feedback-technology on ship control. These forces ensure an intuitive way of transferring information from the information system to the human operator.
Brent Kok, Co-founder and CFO of Smart-Ship will pitch his company which he started together with his brother in 2018. Their entrepreneurial mindset made the company develop very quickly in such a short time frame.
The latest Buccaneer who joined us in Delft: MegaWindForce. A unique, modular & maintenance friendly wind turbine. It is significantly smaller in size and weight than conventional turbines with comparable output. It generates renewable power at lower costs and sound levels and with a much lower carbon footprint. The design is set to become the new industry standard in wind turbines.
Kees Willemse, CEO of MegaWindForce, has quite a track record to mention of innovations in the maritime, offshore and energy domain. With past positions as professor Offshore Engineering at the TU Delft, CEO of Royal Haskoning Asia and Business Director at TNO on the energy transition in the Netherlands and Europe, he is now committed to bring MegaWindForce to the market and make it accelerate.
