Energy Talks&Drinks – Minimizing environmental impact: low carbon transport solutions

4 June 2020 @ 15:00 - 16:00

Being sustainable and conscious in life is determined by the choices we make every day, for example by the way we travel. During the Energy Talks&Drinks on June 4 we will investigate developments in public and industry transport and how they will contribute to the energy transition.

Bart Hellings, COO / CTO – GoodFuels
GoodFuels is the pioneer in the sustainable fuel market for shipping and an important market leader across other transportation sectors. The company has created a one-stop shop for marine industry customers integrating the entire supply chain for sustainable marine biofuels. From feedstock to tank, GoodFuels Marine’s proposition covers elements of sourcing feedstock and ensuring its 100% sustainability, the production and refining, the global distribution, quality assurance and marketing programs with ports, governments and end clients. Bart Hellings (COO / CTO at GoodFuels) will illustrate how GoodFuels helps ship operators and cargo owners to decarbonize their operations and highlight how GoodFuels continuously innovates with new solutions to accelerate the energy transition in shipping.

David Dwek, Supply Chain Analyst – SkyNRG
Flying is essential for economies and businesses globally, but the impact of aviation on our carbon footprint is significant and growing rapidly. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) made from sustainable raw materials is the only way to significantly reduce the dependency on fossil kerosene in the near term while supporting the sustainable growth of air travel. SkyNRG, the global market leader for SAF, not only fulfills the demand for SAF (through sales & supply) but also creates the demand by developing new SAF volumes through innovative projects. David Dwek, Supply Chain Analyst at the Future Fuels team, will introduce us to this topic with several of SkyNRG’s innovative initiatives.

Rik Roeske, Project Lead – Hardt Hyperloop
After having won Elon Musk’s hyperloop competition and having built Europe’s first hyperloop test facility in Delft, Hardt is taking hyperloop to the next level to create a world where distance doesn’t matter. Their hyperloop links airports, harbors, large city pairs and smaller cities in between with a low-pressure tube which allows vehicles to travel over 1000 km/h, using just a fraction of the energy consumed by cars, planes and trains. A couple of months ago Hardt announced that the province of Groningen will host the European Hyperloop Center and a recent concept study on the impact of hyperloop for the province of North Holland show very promising results. Rik Roeske, Project Lead for the Cargoloop, Hardt’s hyperloop-solution for cargo transportation, will update us about Hardt’s developments.
