Energy Talks&Drinks – Rise of renewable energy: challenging the energy grid
2 July 2020 @ 16:00 - 17:00Free
The growing demand for renewable energy is challenging the energy grid. Creating flexibility is needed to match the supply-demand. During the Energy Talks&Drinks on July 2 we will look into the challenges renewable energy, such as wind and solar, is facing and which technical solutions will help solve these challenges to create flexibility in the energy grid.
Olindo Isabella, Head of the Photovoltaic Materials and Devices group at TU Delft
Olinda Isabella will talk about trends and research in solar power systems and system integration. What developments can we expect in both grid-connected and off-grid PV systems?
Anton Tijdink, Electricity Market Analyst at TenneT
Anton Tijdink will share his expertise on the need for flexibility in the energy grid. As one of the main players in facilitating the energy market, TenneT is on top of the latest market developments in creating that flexibility.
Daniel Buhagiar, CEO and co-founder at FLASC
Daniel Buhagiar will give insights in offshore renewable energy storage based on recent research studies FLASC been working on. Main focus is offshore wind but the studies also show opportunities for hydrogen.
