Yesterday, 7 December we had a great edition of our energy Talks&Drinks with the Geothermal theme. You can see by the amount of people and enthusiasm that geothermal energy is truly a hot topic. I would like to thank all presenters and attendees for making this a success. It was also nice to see the correlation between the various presenters to get the full picture.
At the start of the evening we listened to professor Jan Diederik van Wees from TNO presenting what opportunities lie in the Netherlands for geothermal energy, what the risks are and how to analyze and reduce those.
After that we split the group in two to create the usual format of short pitches followed by questions/short debates. The options were:
Chris Maaijwee – Talking about how a geoconsultant can tell you where you want to drill for company Panterra
Panos Doulgeris – went more specific into the data and showed what Delft Inversion does and how they use the inversions from seismic data to get a more detailed report
Kornelius Boersma – Summary of the engineering and management of 20 geothermal projects of WEP showing the challenges of digging geothermal wells.
Peter de Vin – Showing a closer look into a project with specific examples and discussing the differences in oil/gas vs Geothermal. Peter is from Huisman equipment
